Though the connection isn't obvious, the way we currently raise animals for food is devastating our planet. For most people, reducing meat and dairy consumption is the most effective way to reduce our ecological footprint.

๐Ÿถ Animals

Eating more plant-based meals lowers demand for meat, dairy and eggs, which dramatically reduces animal suffering on factory farms around the world. As Lyn White puts it, "Since we can lead healthy, happy, fulfilling lives without harming those who share this world with us, why wouldn't we?"

๐Ÿ’ช Physical Health

A diet based around plants can help prevent a variety of diseases and promote good health throughout our lives. For athletes, plant-based eating can boost performance and speed recovery.

๐Ÿง  Mental Health

Plant-based eating appears to influence mental health positively and has been correlated with fewer symptoms of depression, anxiety, stress, and mood disturbance. It may also help prevent Alzheimerโ€™s disease and other forms of dementia.

Contrary to popular belief, plant-based eating doesn't have to be expensive! Staples like beans and grains are some of the least expensive foods around, and frozen produce is cheaper and just as healthy as fresh!
